Floyd Clinton "Benny" Benson, 87, of Waterloo, formerly of Dumont, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at the Shell Rock Healthcare Center in Shell Rock. He was born on April 23, 1930, in Allison, Iowa, to Harold and Mildred (Kibsgaard) Benson.
Floyd graduated from Dumont High School. He was united in marriage to Henrietta Rinnels on November 25, 1951, in Dumont. He worked for the Railroad, drove a Met transit bus for thirty-six years, and after retirement he worked for Waterloo School Bus Sales.
Floyd attended services at the Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church in Waterloo. He enjoyed camping, reading, listening to country music and watching westerns.
Floyd loved his family dearly and is survived by his children Rod (Cynthia) Benson of Waterloo, Kathy (Gene) Clouse of Alden, Juleene (Greg) Hasty of Valparaiso, Florida, Joy (David) Glover of Conroe, Texas, Allen (Annette) Benson of Waterville, Minnesota and Rachel (Mark) McLean of Bixby, Oklahoma, seventeen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, with one on the way, siblings Eunice Brandt of Hampton, Bonnie (Alan) Marken of Clear Lake, Frank (Norma) Benson of Ackley, and Robert (Linda) Benson of Dumont, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Mildred, wife Henrietta, sister Dorothy (Dale) Smuck, sister Vivian (Laverne) Ringleb, sister Janice (Dale) Bailey, granddaughter Ashley Benson, great-granddaughter Emery Davidson, brother-in-law Harry Brandt and best friend Jack Auringer.

I'm so sorry to hear of Benny's passing. He was a very polite sweetie man and will be missed by many.
I worked with Rod at John Deere and witnessed a sons love for his father that I hope someday my son will express for me. All of us at the Deuell house give our sincerest condolences and am so sorry for your loss.
