Obituary
Harold A. Eckhoff, 90, of Latimer, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at the Belmond Medical Center in Belmond, Iowa. He was born February 14, 1921, in Wisner Township in Alexander, Iowa, to George & Grace (Schmidt) Eckhoff. Harold graduated from Alexander High School in 1939. He was united in marriage on November 3, 1949, at the Immanuel Church of Christ in Latimer, Iowa, to Dorothy D. Jackson. Harold was a member of the First Reformed Church in Alexander, Iowa, where he served on the church board for fifteen years. He worked as a dedicated farmer his entire life. Harold enjoyed woodworking, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, family gatherings, but his true enjoyment in life was farming. He is survived by his wife Dorothy D. Eckhoff of Latimer, son Wayne and wife Jane of Alexander, granddaughter Rebecca and husband Steve Tiffany of Mukwonago, Wisconsin, grandson Mark and wife Jenny Eckhoff of Madrid, grandson Brian and wife Ashley Eckhoff of Marion, great grandchildren Nathan and Allyson Tiffany, step great grandson Michael Legan and sister Mildred Eckhoff of Alexander. Harold is preceded in death by his parents, son Darrell Allen, daughter Marsha Elaine, brother Raymond, three sister-in-laws Evelyn, Lavon and Elsie, three brother-in-laws Robert, Vincent and Donald and one nephew Alvin Alfson.
Burial will take place at the Alexander Cemetery in Alexander, Iowa.
