Eva Arends, 93, of Dumont, Iowa, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 7, 2019. She passed away at the Dumont Wellness Center where she had lived since 2013.
Eva Irene Etzen was born January 9, 1926, in rural Kesley to John and Grace (Tjebkes) Etzen. She attended the Little Yellow Schoolhouse and Dumont School. Eva accepted Christ as her personal savior as a young girl in Sunday school.

They lived on the farm in the Dumont, Bristow and Greene areas their entire married life until Siebert passed away in 1977. Eva then moved into Dumont and worked as the church janitor for ten years and a housekeeper at the nursing home for twenty-four years.
Eva loved working beside Siebert with all the farm work, raising chickens for eggs and was known for her homemade bread. She also enjoyed tea-time with friends and family get-togethers. Her family was everything to her.
