Ronald Duane Palmer, 76, of Latimer, Iowa, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019, at his home in Latimer. He was born on October 17, 1942, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton, to Cleo and Mabel (Paulsen) Palmer.

Ronald attended Hampton Community Schools. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Koenigsberg on July 12, 1964, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Latimer; she preceded him in death. Ronald then married Gay Wanner on February 14, 2006, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Latimer.

Ronald farmed with Roy Plagge and enjoyed it dearly. He also worked at B & W Grocery, Birdsell Grocery and Fareway, all in Hampton, as well as at Econofoods in Clear Lake.

Ronald was a previous member of the Lions Club in Clear Lake and a lifelong member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Latimer. He enjoyed hunting with his father, playing cards, and watching wrestling and westerns, especially Gunsmoke. Ronald loved spending time with his family and also enjoyed cooking for them. He was a kind and caring person and will be missed by many.

Ronald is survived by his wife Gay Palmer of Latimer, daughter Dawn Humburg of Hampton, granddaughter Kaylee (Josh) Mulder of Latimer, grandson Michael Humburg of Coulter, great-grandsons Ryder and Brody Mulder of Latimer, sister Janice (Dave) Klingenberg of Hampton, father and mother-in-law Phil and Shirley Wanner of Dumont, sisters-in-law Gerda (Rod) Muller of Hampton, Gwen (Mike) Thornburgh of Dumont and Glenda (Steven) Hattfield of Earlham, brother-in-law Gary (Lori) Wanner of Williamsburg, nieces and nephews Jeffrey (Kim) Marchant of Indianola, Tamara Birdsell (Tom Simpson) of Humboldt, Jeffrey (Jenny) Klingenberg of Spencer, Karen (Dale) Aubuchon of Trinidad, Colorado, along with numerous other nieces, nephews, extended relatives and all of their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents Cleo and Mabel and first wife Marilyn.
