Roger Dean Sage, 69, of Dumont, Iowa, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019, at UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital in Waterloo. He was born on July 18, 1950, to Truman and Gertrude (DeJoode) Sage. Roger grew up in Pleasantville and graduated from high school in 1968. He attended two years at Iowa State University.
Roger served his country in the United States Army from 1971 to 1973 and was a member of the Dumont American Legion.
He enjoyed playing cards and his two Yorkies - Mindy and Molly. Roger was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Roger is survived by his son Rob Sage of Ames, daughter Lisa Neitenbach of Abilene, Texas, daughter Erica Martin of Granite Falls, Minnesota, one sister-in-law, several grandchildren, a nephew, nieces and cousins. Roger had a big heart and is also survived by numerous friends and many others who he considered his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Truman and Gertrude, brother Ed and fiancé Jackie Franke.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Dumont American Legion in memory of Roger.
