Luke L. Oehlert, 43, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away October 18, 2010, at his home in Hampton, Iowa. He was born January 15, 1967, in Des Moines, Iowa. His parents were Robert & Marjorie Oehlert, they passed away and he was adopted by Larry and Hettie (Chapman) Lindley. Luke graduated from the Hampton High School in 1985, and attended North Iowa Area Community College and Ellsworth Community College. He worked at Fareway Grocery Store as a meat cutter. Luke was affiliated with the New Beginning Church in Hampton. He was a member of the Beeds Lake Bow Benders and Pheasants Forever. Luke enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing yahtzee, sports, especially watching the Buffalo Bills football team and spending time with his family. He is survived by his parents Larry & Hettie Lindley of Hampton, brothers & sisters Dean Oehlert, Sandra Flinchum, Bob Oehlert, Ricky Oehlert, Jeanie Shull, Paula Wood, Pamela Flinchum, Wendi Lindley Pryor, Carolyn Lindley Reed & Jeremy Lindley, also numerous nieces and nephews. Luke was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Teresa and his favorite dog Casey.
Burial will take place at the Hampton Cemetery.
Larry and Hettie, Autumn told us about Luke\'s passing, we remember him as the young man who help with detassling corn. We are so sorry for your loss.
Luke always had a smile and was nice to everyone. I have great memories of his smile and kindness. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Peace be with all of Luke\'s family in this difficult time. Luke was a very special friend and though miles have taken some of us away...memories of him will last forever.
Luke will be missed by us very much! He was a wonderful person with a smile for everyone! Rest in peace!
